What is 5th Metatarsal Fractures?

The fifth metatarsal is the long bone on the outside of the foot connecting to the little toe. Fractures of this bone are among the most common foot fractures and include several distinct types: avulsion fractures (near the base), Jones fractures (at the metaphysis), and midshaft stress fractures.
